Wizard's Tower

Seeing as how most wizards live for over ten thousand years and their servants live for a scant hundred, many wizards in out-of-the-way parts of the world use their servants' bodies to increase the magical resonance of their towers. The bodies, which are carefully preserved and put into place with a variety of arcane rituals, also serve a secondary purpose of scaring the life out of anyone who might approach and attempt to disturb the constantly-busy wizards.

Within the servant class, it is considered a great honor to be enshrined in a wizard's tower in such a manner, with the most-deserving servants being placed in choice locations where they are not only more visible, but serve a greater purpose in increasing the tower's resonance (doorways, arches, windows, etc.)

The bodies are often protected with powerful shielding spells, as they are a frequent target for thieves and rogue mages looking for magical "souvenirs", such as the fingers, toes, and sexual organs of the enshrined.
